Oct 08 2007 - Data Squad and more

We have added descriptions for the first two dubbed episodes of Data Sqaud. Check them out here:

Episode 1: There are Monsters Among Us
Episode 2: Marcus' Inner Strength

Also, two quick notes on that. One, all of the dates are in the Month/Day/Year format because it is easier for me to set them up like that. And two they do contain spoilers so read pretty much at your own risk.

And for those of you wondering the portal members are already beginning work on Dusk, Dawn, and Data Squad (PS2) so if you need something on that keep on the lookout.

Remember to watch Episode 3 today at 8:30 pm as always and if you happen to miss it at that time I also found that at 1:00 am (I believe, check local listings) it comes on so maybe set it to record with you DVR, Tivo, or even a VCR if you don't want to stay up to watch it.

Not to long ago, I saw a commercial on Toon Disney about Data Squad. This is what they said:

"Catch the premier of Digimon Data Squad next Monday at 8:30/7:30 C" This means that on October 1, 2007 you'll be able to catch it at that time. Please note that this is for North America, no clue if this will ever be shown outside of America with this dub.

As always check back regularly for any more news and if you happen to miss the episode you can always find the description within the portal.

For those of you anticipating the series to hit the US you'll be glad (or not so glad) to hear that it will begin airing on October 1, 2007 on the Jetix block of Toon Disney. I am unaware of any specific times as of yet but check back within the next week and a half for hopefully an actual time. Hopefully for you guys that don't have access to Toon Disney some sort of box set or at least DVDs are released.

I also happened to find another list containing the cast names and who the person is playing:

Jamieson Price - Commander Sampson
Sam Riegel - Kudamon
Stephanie Sheh - Officer Megumi Shirokawa
Kate Higgins - Officer Miki Kurosaki
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn - Sayuri Damon
Melissa Fahn - Kristy Damon
Terrence Stone - Biyomon
Kirk Thornton - Hiroshi Yushima
Jeff Nimoy - Kamemon, Dr. Spencer Damon
Richard Epcar - Merukimon
Michael Lindsay - Gotsumon
Paul St. Peter - SaberLeomon
Mona Marshall - Frigimon

One name I can recognized was Kate Higgins, who voices Sakura on Naruto. So it's sure to be great cast.

In other news Digimon Data Squad has also been released in the US, I'm talking about the game here. I'm actually thinking of getting it sometime this week or soon since I don't have a DS to play the other ones. In case I do I'd be glad to review the game just for you guys to know if it's worth getting.

Keep checking back for any more new and information on Digimon!

As we celebrate the launch of Digimon World Dawn and Dusk in the States and across the rest of North America (and for importers in Europe), we continue the trend of our action-packed epic of the long voyage of the European version of the first one across the Atlantic. Yes, it's still not out. The European versions of Dawn and Dusk, meanwhile, are supposedly set for release either before the end of 2007 or in early 2008.

Anyway, Dawn and Dusk. Dawn and Dusk, much like...er...the, er, other 'mon franchise on the DS (you know which one I mean, the one with the yellow mouse that shoots lightning), the game comes in two flavours, Dawn and Dusk. Each has its own storyline, playable character and exclusive Digimon. Plus, it boasts over 400 Digimon between them, and more Wi-Fi features than the original, making online trading and battling a reality. New playable Digimon? Well, we won't spoil too much, but we will confirm that many characters who appeared in DWDS but weren't playable now are. As a taster, we can confirm Alphamon, CVAngemon, SkullGreymon, Kimeramon and Armageddemon.

Oh, and, er, we've hit 450 Digimon in Digimon Information, as well. #450 is Trailmon.

So, new games, eh? Well, maybe now we can know: which other Digimon are playable? What are the games about? And what is the plural of "saga"?

Well, maybe it's no surprise (and perhaps that comment is deja vu), but Europe still doesn't have Digimon Story - with the release dates of the sequels in the US less than two months away and the supposed European releases no more than four.

Still, it has been known for DS games to take unbelievable amounts of time on the voyage over the Atlantic (just look at Elite Beat Agents). What's concerning is that if Digimon Story is delayed any further, assuming it is coming out, will that delay the sequels and cause a backlog?

We'll just have to wait and see. As we've said at least once before, we'll keep you update if anything happens.

  Jul 06 2007 - 350 Digimon!

It's a big day for the Digimon Information area - we've reached 350 Digimon! The 350th entry is cute little Botamon, and as one of the original Digimon, it seems amazing that he hasn't got his own profile until now.

Keep watching the Interactive area - big things are being planned for it in the near future!

  Jul 02 2007 - New Portal Areas!

We are proud to present two new areas of the Portal!

The Digimon Spotlight features a specific Digimon and tells you about it. This changes each day (today, it's Numemon).

Also new is the Portal Tournaments section, which we've set up for the online battles featured in the DS games Digimon Story Sunburst and Digimon Story Moonlight.

These are part of our new "Interactive" section. There's a lot more to come, so keep watching it!

  Jul 02 2007 - Recent Portal Updates for Jul 01, 2007

It may not have come as much of a surprise, but Digimon Story didn't see a European release on March 30th.

The strange thing? Sunburst and Moonlight are speculated to be set for a release in "Autumn 2007", according to EuroGamer, which would presumably put the date at November 30th or earlier. This means that, if these two hit thee dates here, Story has less than five months if it's going to be released before then.

We're not sure when it's going to be released, but when we know, we'll tell you.

The preview shows many features to be included into the game including the amount of digimon.

"While collecting the 140-plus Digimon in the game will be a big part of the attraction, it isn't, of course, the only thing you can do with your ever-growing stable of digital monsters. Evolving them into higher digital forms will grant them more power on the battlefield, with a larger array of powerful attacks and guards from which to choose."

Surprisingly there are two ways of digivolution which the digimon games have not seen yet. The two are the Galactic Evolution System or just randomly digivolving. The majority of you may be mostly familiar with just randomly digivolving.

"You'll have two choices for evolving your Digimon: The first involves using a system known as the Galactic Evolution System. Here, you choose the path of your Digimon's evolution by mapping it out on what looks like a star system, with each star in the constellation representing a new destination on your evolutionary trail. The second method is to choose a random evolution, which will give your Digimon a random evolution, possibly a path you hadn't thought of before."

May 18 2007 - Dusk and Dawn for DS

The two are said to have different stories but will interact with each other, so it might be a good idea to check both out if you want to know the full stories.

Each game will having you controlling different people from the different worlds. In Japan the two games are already released know as Digimon Story Sunburst (Digimon World Dawn) and Digimon Story Moonlight (Digimon World Dusk).

A quote from IGN: "In each game, rumors are circling that groups in the opposite world are responsible for mysterious incidents laying waste to their own land. Both sides accuse the other, and the player must choose a side and uncover the truth. Dawn and Dusk each have their own worlds waiting to be explored."

Start to look out for Digimon World Dusk and Digimon World Dawn in the fall of 2007 for the DS.

According to the (believe it or not) UK DS section of GameSpot, the game, entitled 'Digimon World DS' in North America, is scheduled for release in that region on November the 14th.

Many critics are saying that the gameplay system is very similar to that of Digimon World 2. Ironic, then, that no European release date has yet been finalized for the game, but as a DS game, it'll probably end up crossing the Atlantic at some point. We hope.
