J.P. is the oldest in the group. He is always in fear that nobody is his real friend, and because of this is very obnoxious in the beginning of the season. he is also jealous that Takuya is Tommy's role model and also because Takuya is able to combine his Digimon forms. As the season progresses he becomes more comfortable with the others in the group and accepts them as real friends.

Koichi is the twin brother of Koji. Separated when they were very young, Koichi and Koji had little memory of their brother. When Koichi's grandmother told him about Koji, he ran after him, only to end up in a coma. his mind was brought to the Digital World, where he met up with the rest of the DigiDestined.

Koji is a loner, and didn't have any friends at the start of Season 4. As much as he tried, Koji could never make friends, mostly because he changed schools so often. After meeting others in the Digital World, he starts to fight alongside them every once in awhile, and then finally joins them permanently. While in the Digital World he meets his twin brother, Koichi, whom he had never heard of before.

Takuya is the "goggle-boy" of Digimon Frontier, meaning he is both energetic and athletic. He tends to act without thinking, but he always tries to do what's right. Takuya is very hot-headed, and this leads him to get into many arguments, especially with Koji. However, Takuya is also very compassionate, which he shows by acting like Tommy's older brother.

Tommy is the youngest within the group, and it shows through his naivety and cowardess. He looks up to Takuya, even thinking of him as a hero at times. However, throughout the show he begins to grow up, and even starts to fight his own battles. Towards the end he becomes more brave and self-reliant, and leanrs that he must handle things on his own once in awhlie.

Zoe is the only female in the team. Although she was born in Japan, she moved to Italy when she was young. When she moved back to Japan she had trouble making friends because of this cultural barrier. J.P. Shibayama has an obvious crush on Zoe, but doesn't want to admit it.
