A direct sequel to the first season, Digimon Adventure 02 takes place three years later when most characters are older and now in high school. The Digital World has just been threatened by a new enemy that has emerged in the form of a Digimon Emperor, a human enslaving Digimon with Black Rings and Control Devices. To make matters worse, the Digimon Emperor has somehow made regular Digivolution impossible. T.K. and Kari, along with three new children (Davis, Cody, Yolie), are chosen to save the Digital World. These five form the new Digi-Destined, the only hope for the Digital World.
