Monzaemon is the head digimon of Toy Town in this series, who was a victim of the Black Gear. He captured all of the Digi-Destined and their partners, except for Mimi and Palmon, who had to save him by themselves. However, they also had a little help from the Numemon that lived there.

In the end, Palmon digivolved to Togemon and destroyed the Black gear.

Monzaemon is an obtainable partner digimon in this game.

Monzaemon digivolves from Numemon.

There is an alternative method for obtaining Monzaemon, it still requires Numemon as your partner digimon however, and is only useable before WauMonzaemon is defeated.

If you go to Toy Town with Numemon and examine the Monzaemon costume in one of the houses, Numemon will slip into it and digivolve to Monzaemon. The game treats this as a natural digivolution, and as such lifespan is increased and stats are raised.

Monzaemon is also a key digimon for a quest in the game. If you talk to one of the Tinmon while your partner is Monzaemon, they make the door in Toy Mansion passable, which after a few rooms leads to WaruMonzaemon, a boss you have to beat to restore Toy Town to the way it was before.
