Tai is seen as the "leader" of the digi-destined in Digimon Adventure. As all other digi-destined have traits or something that distinguishes them, he has the Courage Crest. He is usually the first to see his digimon (Agumon) digivolve into the next digivolution such as he was the first to see Greymon or champion form in this case. He appears in all episodes and his closest relatives in the show is Hikari "Kari" Kamiya who is a fellow digi-destined and sister.
