Zanbamon (ザンバモン "Zanbamon") is a mega level, humanoid Digimon of the virus type. It resembles a demon or zombie warrior riding upon a skeleton horse. Both Zanbamon and its mount are covered in shining gold armor. The horse has one blade like horn jutting from a golden helmet on its skull, and areas uncovered in armor reveal a black body with a skull head and neck. The warrior has a shredded red cape on his back and a golden, crescent shaped object adorns his head. They are armed with two weapons, a katana and more predominantly a large, thick and golden sword. Though he lacks visible wings, he can fly. Their special attack is the 打首獄門 (Ukubi Gokumon, lit. Throat-Slicing Prison Gate), from which it beheads its opponent. Their name derives from 斬馬刀 ("zanbato", lit. Horse Beheading Sword), from which their golden sword take its massive size.

Zanbamon is usually regarded as a powerful threat and his great power is never taken lightly. Feared by many he is only under control of Musyamon, whom he serves as general to.

[edit] Digimon World 3

Zanbamon is an enemy boss digimon that first of all defeats you (but does not knock you out) and can only be defeated originally through non-battling methods. You must obtain the smelly herb by completing the Sepikmon's mask quest. Afterwards, Zanbamon is found at the Catacombs and by defeating him, you get a Rusty Katana which is the base of Kotemon's epic weapon.
